TWIN PINES COCKER SPANIELS
Showing and breeding for the love of the American Cocker Spaniel

Twin Pines started breeding in the early 70's, being mentored by several breeders, learning about the breed and observing various breeding approaches. The first champion was Ch. Hilllmeade's Pretty Please who finished undefeated in 1982 and the first homebred champion was Ch. Twin Pines Master's Choice who finished in 1987, owner handled.  From 1986 to 2003 Twin Pines presented/handled cockers for other breeders and finished about 200 of all three varieties.

Twin Pines is presently a small, very selective breeding program.  By having shown for other breeders and traveling to various parts of the country for cocker shows, I am very knowledgeable of the breed.  I have had the good fortune to be closely associated with some of the top buff breeders of all time, esp. Palm Hill and Beaujolais.  I have been invited to judge sweepstakes in many areas of the country and was elected in 2000 to judge the national futurity.

Twin Pines has very special temperaments and selects to have very healthy and sound cockers.  There are five females at Twin Pines, one of which is beyond breeding age.  The bitches are not bred until they are three years of age to allow any expression of genetic problems.  By the time their daughters are three, they are six.  Thus I do not breed just to be producing pups.  Twin Pines only whelps one or two litters per year.  Twin Pines presents at dog shows to prove that the dogs conform to the written standard as to the opinion of top breeder judges.  In January 2007, Twin Pines Handsome Dude, at 9 months of age was Winners Dog, Best of Winners, and First Award of Merit.  There are three males at Twin Pines,  One is 10 years old and has only been used at stud 3 times in the states, 1 time in Canada and 3 times in Europe.  He is an International Champion but used very selectively.  The other two males are young.  Twin Pines breeds to stud dogs that are older, sound and healthy.

I like to keep in touch with the cockers that I place in homes and e-mail offers the opportunity to do so.  In this I can know about the health of my progeny and assist owners when it is needed.

I am a member of American Spaniel Club for 20 years and a member of Salamonie Cocker Spaniel Club in Indiana and of Fort St. Clair Kennel Club in Eaton Oh.

Pups are placed on spay/neuter contract, with AKC papers available only once proof of spay/neuter is provided.
